Linus Tech Tips has published a brief summary of a third-party investigation into allegations against the hardware review channel. The investigation—organised by the channel’s owner, Linus Media Group—found no evidence of wrongdoing at the company.

Linus Tech Tips found itself embroiled in controversy in August of last year. What started as a criticism of its review process and an apology video quickly spiralled into allegations from a former employee of harrassment and inappropriate workplace behaviour. 

We received a statement from LMG CEO Terren Tong that same month confirming that the company would be hiring an outside investigator to look into the allegations, along with a stated commitment to publish the findings.

Helldivers 2 has been one of 2024’s big hits, and found a huge audience ready to spread managed democracy across the galaxy. The game’s setting has one inspiration above all others: Paul Verhoeven’s film Starship Troopers, loosely based on the Robert Heinlein novel. The game is packed with references and tributes, and sparked some renewed interest in the movie, with even Casper Van Dien (main character Johnny Rico in Starship Troopers) calling it “really quite wonderful.”

In the same article, I speculated that we might not see the RX 7800 XT hit the shelves for several months yet, though it turns out we might see it sooner rather than later.

ASRock has registered a pair of AMD graphics card models with the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC), as spotted by harukaze5719. Both cards confirm the existence and naming of the RX 7800 XT. Though we don’t yet have confirmed specifications, the names suggest the cards will ship with 16GB of memory.

Way back in August, a Baldur’s Gate 3 player managed to one-shot the final boss of Act 2 by using a mace that deals damage based on how much gold the target has, doing so by reverse-pickpocketing 15,000 sword coast smackeroons into Ketheric Thorm’s pocket.

There weren’t many specific Borderlands 4 details in the panel—big news: it takes place on a new planet with new vault hunters—but one takeaway is that Gearbox seems to be self-conscious about the perception of Borderlands’ sense of humor as untethered, omg-so-random pop culture chaff.
